More Torque, Better Towing and Proven Performance
Toyota’s latest King of the Road has dumped the 4.5-litre V8 twin turbo diesel in the 200 series in favour of a much more efficient and advanced 3.3-litre V6 twin turbo (F33A-FTV). The V6 offers substantially more usable power and torque over the outgoing V8, offers better economy and with a 10-speed auto it’s never short on grunt when you need it. Through extensive road and dyno testing, HPF have identified the short comings of the engine platform and have addressed these issues in a way that maintains Toyota’s renowned reliability.
Heat Management
Toyota’s 300-Series 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine is already an efficient and powerful engine with class leading economy and respectable power and torque figures. However, where the twin turbo diesel engine does fall over is in heat management, especially when towing. Sustained medium-to-heavy throttle raises the temperature of the factory water-to-air intercooler, causing the engine management system to derate power. Leveraging our partnerships with some of Australia’s finest manufacturers, we can provide quality product solutions that integrate seamlessly into the vehicle to control heat and maintain the power when you need it most.
ECU Calibration
Like most Toyota engines, the 3.3-litre twin-turbo F33A-FTV in the 300-Series Landcruiser has considerable untapped potential in its factory calibration. Through extensive in-house dyno testing on our own dynamometers, HPF refines the ECU’s boost control, fuel mapping, injection timing, and VVT calibration to extract strong gains in power and torque.
We achieve this without any intrusive wiring, cutting, or hardware modifications. Drawing on decades of hands-on experience with Toyota’s latest platforms, we calibrate to proven safe limits for fuel, boost pressure, and engine parameters. Power is simply the result — never the starting point.
