VFII 6.2L HPF Stage 6 | 490KW
The HPF VFII 6.2L Stage-6 upgrade starts with our trained technician fitting a Harrop ‘Over the Radiator’ Cold Air Induction system with a high flow serviceable air filter element and a higher flowing – and much better sounding – Pacemaker dual 3” ‘catback’ (dual 2.5” for wagon) exhaust system we then continue by adding 4-1 headers (extractors) and high flow metallic catalytic converters the same as Stage-4. Stage-5 goes further adding a high-performance Head and camshaft package utilizing Higgins Race heads ported factory castings, premium Brian Tooley Racing products jumping the power and attitude of the engine to a whole new level. We then custom tune your vehicle's ECU on the dyno utilizing the latest ECU tuning software to maximize power and torque and to optimize fuel efficiency. We complete the upgrade process by testing your vehicle on the road to make final adjustments, optimizing your vehicle's performance and driveability. This is all completed in four to five days and at the end of this upgrade you will be provided with a dyno graph detailing the power & torque increase of your vehicle. Flex Fuel (E85) is an option, talk to one of our Sales Representatives.
• Cold air intake - The Harrop ‘Over the Radiator’ Air Induction (OTR) system features a large diameter free-flowing intake path to ensure maximum performance from your LS3 powered vehicle. It features a large surface area panel air filter mounted directly in front of the engines throttle body and is designed to draw straight in from the grille opening. This design assists in minimizing the restriction of air flow and eliminates the intake of hot air from inside the engine bay.
• Catback Exhaust system – A ‘Catback’ system is basically all the parts of the exhaust after the catalytic converters. It’s the section of exhaust where all the mufflers are placed and by using larger diameter pipe and high flowing mufflers more performance and better sound is achieved. HPF works closely with our 2 major exhaust suppliers Pacemaker and Manta. The advantage we find of having two suppliers is we remain flexible in terms of price, availability and product selection. Pacemaker offers a 5-year warranty and are built in Richmond, South Australia while Manta offers a 10-year warranty and has manufacturing in both Belmont, Western Australia and Melton, Victoria.
• Headers & High Flow Cats – Also known as extractors, we chose a 4-1 design as over the years 4-1 headers have proven their advantage over the tri-y design. 4-1 Headers are offered in a few different sizes for different engine applications or modification levels. The catalytic converters chosen are higher flow and feature either 100 cpi or 200 cpi (cell per inch). The catalyst matrix is coated metal so they are built to last. The catback exhaust bolts to the catalytic converters.
• Cam Package (6.0L engine) – Utilizing the latest in Spintron technology, Brian Tooley Racing (BTR) in Kentucky, USA lead the way in valvetrain component design. The Spintron machine allows BTR to effectively test and design camshaft and valvetrain products to ensure stability and longevity like no other device. HPF is not shy in leveraging BTR’s extensive testing and as such, our product list for the cam package includes BTR’s camshaft, Platinum dual valve springs and V2 rocker trunnions. Supporting the BTR components, we use made in Australia, Rollmaster heavy duty single row timing chains and Crow Cams pushrods. Cam selection should be based on driving expectations and should be discussed with one of our HPF representatives. We recommend new hydraulic lifters in higher milage engines.
• Cylinder Heads – The LS3 like all other LS based engines benefit from accurate CNC cylinder head porting. We use Higgins Race Heads out of Dandenong Victoria exclusively for all of our cylinder head porting requirements. As well as increased intake and exhaust flow, the heads are decked flat to increase the compression ratio and are thoroughly reconditioned and fitted with Brian Tooley Racing platinum dual valve springs. The heads are reassembled on to your engine with new GM head-gaskets and GM head bolts.
• Dyno Tuning – By optimizing the engine tune parameters in the vehicles PCM to suit 98 octane fuel, we are able to increase both power and torque and maximise fuel economy. Late model naturally aspirated cars are generally tuned very well from the manufacturer so depending on the vehicle platform mechanical parts to improve the engines intake & exhaust flow may need to be added to really get good gains.

Key Features
Engines work by creating a vacuum in the cylinder when the piston descends the bore of the engine, that vacuum draws air into the cylinder, it's then mixed with fuel, sealed up and ignited. More air + more fuel = more power. Simples. Now, think what might happen if instead of relying just on the vacuum created by the piston movement, we could create higher pressure on the intake side so every time the piston descends the cylinder, more air than what would naturally be drawn into the engine is forced into the cylinder... The Stage-6 provides gobs of power from idle, the Harrop S/C kit is OEM quality and it can support 1000hp plus.
Notes
- Power figures are estimates only and actual figure's may vary based on each specific vehicle.
- We recommend all vehicles coming to HPF for tuning run 98 Octane fuel. Please contact us if you have a need to use different fuel.
- Quoted power figures are approximate and calculated at the flywheel.
- Modifications such as this package require the vehicle to be in excellent mechanical order.
- We advise against increasing the power output substantially on high kilometer engines, if your engine has in excessive of 150,000kms please contact us to discuss options.
- Whilst every attempt is made to ensure prices listed online are correct, they are subject to change at any time.
- Additional parts may be required in some cases depending on the condition of the vehicle. Cost of these parts and additional labor required may incur additional cost.
- Final price may vary dependent on specific options chosen.
- Some automatic transmission models may require a cooler kit at additional cost.
