FJ CRUISER 1GR-FE | STAGE 3 | 300KW
The FJ Cruiser 1GR-FE Stage-3 upgrade starts with our trained technician setting your vehicle up on our 2WD dynamometer and performing a baseline dyno run. This allows us to firstly make sure everything is working A-OK and secondly it gives us a standard figure from your car to compare to once the upgrade is completed. We commence the power upgrade by fitting a Harrop TVS-1900 intercooled supercharger kit along with a fuel system upgrade that includes 6x 525cc fuel injectors and a Walbro in-tank high flow fuel pump.
We complete the package by custom tuning your vehicle's ECU on the dyno in real time utilizing the latest ECU tuning software to maximize power, torque and fuel efficiency and testing your vehicle on the road to make final adjustments, optimizing your vehicle's performance and driveability. At the end of this upgrade, we will provide you with a dyno graph comparing the before and after power & torque increase the upgrade has made to your vehicle.
Like all of our upgrade packages the Stage-3 package is modular in that it allows the customer to add to the package minimising the requirement to spend money twice when and if further upgrades are desired. We also always strive to bring you maximum performance with high quality components while still maintaining reliability and driveability.
- Dyno Tuning – By optimizing the engine tune parameters in the vehicles PCM to suit 98 octane fuel, we are able to increase both power and torque and maximise fuel economy. Late model naturally aspirated cars are generally tuned very well from the manufacturer so depending on the vehicle platform mechanical parts to improve the engines intake & exhaust flow may need to be added to really get good gains. Engines fitted with a turbocharger from factory are much easier to enhance as increasing boost pressure by tuning works extremely well.
- Supercharger – HPF works very closely with Harrop engineering and we are one of only 3 Premium Dealers in Victoria. The TVS-1900 intercooled supercharger utilizes an Eaton 4-lobe rotor design with 160-degree twist and is a positive displacement type compressor made to exacting OEM tolerances. The rotor group is used by manufactures like Chevrolet’s LS9 powered Corvette and the HSV GTS-R W1. A positive displacement superchargers major advantage over turbochargers and most other types of superchargers is its ability to make positive boost pressure almost immediately as soon as the throttle is opened, this gives the positive displacement supercharger unmatched low-down torque. Air temperature is offset by an integral water to air intercooler system. The ‘1900’ in the name of the supercharger refers to the amount of air displaced in one revolution of the supercharger, i.e. for every one revolution of the supercharger, 1900cc’s of air is displaced. Harrop products are designed and built in Preston, Victoria.
- Fuel system upgrade – Performance upgrades in almost all cases involves allowing the engine to take in more air, each engine revolution – it could be via a supercharger or it could be simply removing restrictions in the intake and or exhaust, either way, the aim of the game is more air. In the early stages of performance, simply tuning the fuel system to match the added air is all that’s required, however once the fuel system can no longer flow the required amount of fuel, an upgrade is required. Typically, the first stage is larger fuel injectors followed by an upgraded fuel pump, this is all model and power dependent. Adding higher flow pumps and injectors does not mean your economy suffers as the extra fuel is only used as required, typically higher in the RPM band. HPF only uses high quality fuel system components typically found in OEM high-output vehicle variants – i.e. Dodge Hellcat, HSV GTS.

Notes
- Power figures listed are estimated kilowatts at the flywheel based on results typically obtained by HPF on HPF’s dynos. Typically these are based of a manual vehicle with standard driveline and standard wheels and tyres. Actual power can vary based on each specific vehicle.
- We advise against increasing the power output substantially on high kilometer engines, if your engine has in excessive of 150,000kms please contact us to discuss options.
- Whilst every attempt is made to ensure prices listed online are correct, they are subject to change at any time.
- Additional parts may be required in some cases depending on the condition of the vehicle. Cost of these parts and additional labor required may incur additional cost.
